Hi - My name is Ian Morris, and for many years I have collected the autographs of ex-NASL players, and have been asked so many times to show them off in their entirety. So, this is my collection of signed NASL teams cards. I will be adding new cards as I receive them, but the post dates will not change.
If there are any former NASL players that come across this, and want to be a part of my collection, please could you email me at: mozzer1963@gmail.com
Please click on the team's name in the "Blog Archive" section to see that team's collection.
I wish to thank everyone that has helped me with my collection of signed NASL cards.
Especially to:
Jan Book,
David Hoebarth, Ray Knisley, Dave Morrison at: http://nasljerseys.com Jan Reinertsen, Dave Brett Wasser at: http://www.davebrett.com/ and to all the NASL players, that have kindly given me their time and help.
I grew up supporting Chelsea, my favourite player was John Boyle, a rough Scottish player, as a defender he would follow the forwards he was marking all over the pitch.
Giving them a kick every now and again, to let them know he was around.
He also had a bit of flair, not like the superstars of today.
Later in his career, when he left Chelsea for Leyton Orient, it broke my heart. But, I continued to follow his career. Then he went to the States to play for the newly formed Tampa Bay Rowdies in 1975.
With thanks to a then penpal, I continued to follow his career from afar. Because of this, I became a big fan of the Rowdies, which has continued to this very day.
A team that is still sadly missed, but are to return in 2010.
I was once asked which football/soccer player would I most like to meet, I thought of the likes of Pele, Cruyff, Rep, Rivelino but there is only one for me and that is Rodney Marsh.
I was also a big fan of the North American Soccer League.
